Barber Performance Horses

Blake Barber lives in Tipton, Indiana and trains a few top quality calf horses a year.  He starts with well-bred, good looking young AQHA horses and spends a lot of time on each horse to develop them into solid, consistent rodeo mounts. He is assisted in operations by his younger brother Brandon who lives in Fletcher, Oklahoma - both of the brother's differing roping styles help to make each horse good for any type of roper. The end result is a horse that is very well broke to ride and is well-rounded and solid in the roping pen.

Start with an athlete. End with an athlete.

Because of their athleticism, all of the Barber's horses will be versatile and have the ability to do multiple events. Most are at least patterned on barrels if not finished on them - this makes each horse flex better and learn to handle themselves at higher speeds. This translates to horses that are more broke and track calves easier. Done correctly, working a horse on barrels provides good exercise and makes for a great workout.
